The first demonstration Dr Usher showed the class was a wand trick. She held a butterfly (made from a substance called micah) over the wand and it started to float - Amazing!

We bent water using materials rubbed on the hair or a jumper.

We made Rice Krispies fly up to a balloon!
We made cans magically move, directing them with a balloon!

We also got to time how long balloons, rubbed with
different materials would stay on a wall!

After a break, she showed us some of her equipment used at Colyton Grammar School. this special device called Van De Graaf
made your hair stand on end if you held the dome while the motor was on! Dr Usher explained the science behind it all (CLASSIFIED INFORMATION!)

By the time the morning was over Ms. McFarlane's class had become fully experienced magicians!
