Dear
Parents
With
all the debate raging about Seaton’s regeneration I have decided to
unveil our own plans about the future.
The school will be greatly affected by the regeneration and we
would like to be ready for growth before it happens.
The
plan, which sets out what I would like to see happening at the school,
in terms of buildings and links with the community, includes three main
aims:
1.
To provide four more classrooms to ensure that all the children
in the school are taught in the best environment for learning.
2.
To provide a second hall to increase space for PE, sport, drama
and music and to provide a shared community use sports hall for the
town.
3.
To provide rooms to bring together Nippers Nursery, Ruperts Pre-School,
extended school club and the new children’s centre, making the school
the hub of children’s services from birth to eleven years within the
local community.
These
three aims have been agreed by the school governors and will form the
focus for our discussions with the developers, town and county
councillors and Devon’s Children’s and
Young People’s services.
An
outline drawing of our building proposals will be pinned up in the
entrance hall for you to see – comments about the plan would be
appreciated.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
Please
note that clubs will not be running next week, with the exception of the
Monday Art Club. This
session will make up for the one missed on Easter Monday.
Early next term we will be sending out a list of clubs which will
take place during the term.
PARENTS’ ASSEMBLY
On
Friday 4th April, at 9.00am, there will be a special assembly
for Foundation and Key Stage 1 children.
Parents of these children are most welcome to attend.
FOUND!
We have
been given a Yale key which was found just outside the school gate.
It looks like a door key.
If you think it belongs to you, please call into the office.
Also
found by the school gate this morning was a child’s pair of glasses
which are also in the office.
‘THE PIPER’
£237.03
was collected at the door at the end of the performances of ‘The Piper’.
Thank you for your donations – the money will go into our School
Fund account which helps subsidises activities and trips for the
children.
SEATON
METHODIST
CHURCH
There
will be a disco at the Seaton
Methodist
Church on Wednesday, 2nd
April 2008, from 4.30pm – 6.00pm.
All Key Stage 2 children are invited.
During the evening they will be showcasing music and artwork
created by the Shell group.
Please phone Debs Brazier 01297 624112 for more information.
